What is GLANSIS?

GLANSIS is a Great Lakes-specific database for Aquatic Nonindigenous Species (ANS). Local agencies such as CISMAs / PRISMs / CWMAs are important potential user groups for GLANSIS.  These groups are both users as well as sources of providing GLANSIS with ANS information.

This project focuses on figuring out the following problems:

(a) Whether or not these groups are already using GLANSIS?

(b) If not, what information sources/repositories are they using?

(c) If so, what features they are using most frequently, and how 'useable' do they find GLANSIS?

(d) What information needs do they have that are not being met?

(e) To what extent do they use 'citizen/community science' to aid local monitoring?
